The mission of the Lupus Foundation of America, Missouri Chapter is to improve the lives of people with lupus through community education, research, and patient support. Located in St. Louis, Missouri, our Chapter provides a variety of services designed to educate patients and the public about lupus. From up-to-date information about lupus to coping skills to living life with a chronic illness, the Missouri Chapter dedicates itself to serving patients in Missouri and counties in Southwest Illinois. 25th Annual Walk For Lupus Now Set for Sunday, October 5th at Shaw Park in Clayton!
|
Hello to all 2008 Walk for Lupus Now participants! My name is Sherita Brewer, and I’m the new Walk Consultant for the Missouri chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America. I will be working closely with Kim Powell and others at the Chapter to make the 2008 Walk for Lupus Now a huge success for the St. Louis community. I wanted to let you all know that you will be seeing a few changes this year in our 2008 Walk for Lupus Now. The most significant change is eliminating the registration fee that you are used to. We will be asking our walkers to raise $100 or more to provide the funds necessary to continue the direct patient services, education, research and advocacy efforts of the LFA and its Missouri Chapter. Each participant raising $100 or more will receive a commemorative Walk for Lupus Now T-shirt. Raising $100 is not as daunting a task as it may seem. If you ask family, friends, colleagues and places where you do business to support your efforts by making a donation to the LFA, you’ll reach $100 in no time! Please take a moment now to register for the Walk by going to www.walkforlupusnowmo.kintera.org. You can sign up as a team captain and start your own team, and then ask family and friends to join your team. You can also join a team or register as an individual by going to this website. Please don’t hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or need any help getting registered or raising funds. Thank you, in advance, for your support of the LFA, Missouri Chapter!

Past Events....
Through your generosity and fund raising efforts the Foundation raised over $28,000! The money you raise goes to help support the various programs that we offer free of charge for Lupus patients and their families. We would like to pay a special thanks to all who volunteered their time or services that sunny, October Sunday, especially our Honorary Co-Chairs Tori Lyons and Jess Spencer of Clear Channel Radio and Joe Sonderman for spinning the tunes!
This year's walk is behind us, but there is a lot of planning already going on for next year's event. Check back in the spring for details on the 25th Annual "Walk For Lupus Now!"
Remember...There's more to Lupus than you know!
